Class Descriptions

Ages 18 Months – 3 years old Boys and Girls = Parent & Child Class

We use movement challenges and equipment set up to develop body awareness and large motor skill development. While children are attempting to learn very basic gymnastic skills, obstacle courses, jumping and climbing, they begin to make the transition from primary caregiver to adult instructor. Exercising and having fun together enhances the parent/child relationship. We require one adult per child enrolled in this class.

Ages 3&4 Boys and Girls = Kindergym

Kindergym is an introductory program to sequential gymnastics for boys and girls. Through a fun and stimulating environment with a set up that changes weekly, children learn basic body positions and core gymnastics skills. Through strength and flexibility training in circuits along with basic gymnastics technique they learn to focus and take instruction from an instructor. Parents are not allowed on the gym floor, but they may observe from the waiting room. Children are split into groups in which there is a 6 to 1 ratio child to coach. Anyone taking Kindergym must be fully potty trained. Classes are 45 minutes each.

Ages 5-7 Rainbow Girls and Thunder Boys (separate classes for boys and girls )

Rainbow and Thunder Boys serve as introductory and basic classes for 5-7 year-olds. This level is also for children that have a basic understanding of the core skills of gymnastics and are ready to move out of the Kindergym Program. The children begin more independent skills and learn a new class structure that does not involve as many circuits. The cartwheel, bridge, proper technique on front and back rolls, and the pullover on bars are the key focus skills at this age and level. Classes are 1 hour.


Basics is a beginner class for ages 7-up. This is a parallel class to Rainbow with age appropriate instruction differences. Basic body shapes and positions, terminology, and core skills provide an important base for the sport of gymnastics and athletics in general. There are separate classes for boys and girls. Boys basics can also be the next step following thunder-boys. Classes are 1 hour each.

Step Up

Step-up is an intermediate class and follows either rainbow or basics. Here the child begins to work on standing backbend, round off, Back Handsprings on the trampolines, swinging elements on bars. There are separate classes for boys and girls. Classes are 1 hour.


Challenge is an advanced class for girls or boys. Focus skills move toward tumbling sequences, handstands and leaps on the balance beam, handstands on the vault, and sequences of skills on the bars. Boys are moving toward level 4 competitive skills on all 6 men’s events. Children will be placed into a challenge class from either rainbow, basics, or step-up. Class is 1 1/2 hours.


Super-K (pre-team) is for advanced girls ages 5-8 who show an apptitude and desire for competitive gymnastics. These are by invitation only. Super-K is 2 hours per week.

Excel Team

Excel is our rec competitive team. Excel competes in several meets in the winter and spring through the USA Gymnastics Excel program. Excel practices 5-12 hours per week and advance through the levels from bronze-diamond.

JO Team

The JO team progresses through level 10 and the college-bound athlete. This group competes throughout the winter and spring through the USA Gymnastics JO program. Practice hours vary from 5-20 hours per week, depending on the level and time of year.

Teen Tumbling

Pay by the class, ages 12-up, this group focuses on improving their tumbling skills for dance, karate, cheer, or anything else. Level ranges from learning handstands and cartwheels to advanced tumbling passes with multiple flips and twists.


Also known as street running or free running, this is a circuit based obstacle class that involves running, jumping, climbing, flipping, and swinging in a certain style and with particular skill progressions. The 7-11 yr-old class is taught and instructed from start to finish. The teen/adult class is supervised with guidance and suggestions in developing obstacles and skills.

Open Gym

Open gym is supervised but not instructed. Come play for 90 minutes- you do not have to be enrolled in our program to show up. Bring a friend for a discounted price. Can also be used as a make-up for missed class.


 DATES, Closings, and hours

Open Monday-Friday from 2:30-7 and Tuesday/Wednesday mornings from 10-1. We do not follow the public school scheduling- we will be open for classes even when school is out unless otherwise noted. Please sign up for text alerts regarding inclement weather closings. We will send a text and put information on our facebook page, website and answering machine. We will not call each student individually. Important dates and closings are as follows:

How to register

Look at classes; call the gym and check for availability for class you want.

Class must be age and level appropriate. Have skills checked by a coach if necessary.

Fill our Registration Form  and register in one of the following ways:

1. Come to the gym and enroll with registration form, class placement, and annual membership fee.

2. Call for class placement and pay membership fee over the phone. Bring registration form to first class.

3. Mail registration form, membership fee, and desirable class time to 3154 Old Murphy Rd. Franklin, NC 28734.
